The Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling wedding brought royal elegance to the rolling hills of Gloucestershire, as the eldest grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II married Harriet Sperling in a charming countryside ceremony surrounded by family, tradition and quiet romance.

A Royal Wedding in the Heart of the Cotswolds

The wedding, held on 6 June 2026 at All Saints’ Church in the picturesque village of Kemble, was a celebration of love, family and new beginnings.

Unlike the grand state occasions often associated with royal weddings, this was a more intimate affair. Yet the guest list was undeniably regal. King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended alongside the Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Zara and Mike Tindall, and other close family members. Their presence reflected the affection and support surrounding the couple as they exchanged vows.

Peter Phillips and Harriet Sperling Begin a New Chapter

For Peter Phillips, son of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, the day marked the beginning of a new chapter. Now 48, Peter has long been regarded as one of the most down-to-earth members of the extended royal family, choosing a career in business and sports management rather than royal duties.

Harriet Sperling, a respected NHS paediatric nurse, has quietly won admiration since entering royal circles, earning praise for her dedication to children’s healthcare and her understated approach to public life.

The bride looked radiant in a bespoke gown created by Emilia Wickstead, one of Britain’s most celebrated designers and a favourite of the Princess of Wales. The elegant design featured lace detailing, delicate wildflower-inspired embroidery and a dramatic train that flowed behind her as she arrived at the historic church.

Harriet’s daughter Georgina joined Peter’s daughters, Savannah and Isla, in the bridal party, creating a touching symbol of the couple’s newly blended family.

Tradition, Family and Gatcombe Park

The ceremony itself reflected the couple’s preference for tradition and family rather than spectacle. Guests gathered inside the centuries-old church before moving to nearby Gatcombe Park, Princess Anne’s beloved Gloucestershire estate, for the reception.

Set against the beauty of the Cotswolds, the celebration combined royal heritage with the warmth of a country wedding.

Royal Guests Arrive in Kemble

Among the most talked-about arrivals were Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, whose appearance delighted royal watchers lining the village streets. Social media quickly filled with photographs of guests arriving, with many commenting on the relaxed and joyful atmosphere surrounding the event.

While the wedding remained largely private, the images that emerged captured a family gathering united in celebration.

A Modern Royal Love Story

What made the occasion especially meaningful was its modern character. Both Peter and Harriet had been married before and brought children into the relationship. Their wedding represented not only a marriage but the coming together of two families.

In an era when the Royal Family continues to evolve, the ceremony offered a reminder that love, commitment and family remain at the heart of every royal story.

As the bells of All Saints’ Church rang out across the Cotswold countryside, guests raised a glass to the newlyweds and the future they will build together. Elegant yet understated, royal yet deeply personal, Peter and Harriet’s wedding will be remembered as one of the most heartfelt royal celebrations of recent years — a day where tradition met modern family life in the most beautiful way.
